Overall image quality is good from the primary camera, especially in daylight - it meters light correctly - photos have decent dynamic range with good levels of detail, which is evident even after zooming in.
Video recording is decent too - you can shoot at up to 4K (though stabilisation is only there till 1080p) - detail levels in videos are good in daylight.Overall, this is a good cameraphone for the price bracket, especially for day-time images.

Powering the Realme 5i is a massive 5,000mAh battery, which should easily last all day and some more if you are a casual user. Unfortunately, Realme hasn’t upgraded the micro-USB port to Type-C on this device, or added fast charging.

The Realme 5i runs Android 9 Pie with ColorOS 6.0.1 on top. Under the hood, it is backed by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 octa-core (4x2.0 GHz Kryo 260 Gold & 4x1.8 GHz Kryo 260 Silver) SoC, paired with 4GB of RAM. The phone has a planned upgrade to Android 10.0.
